Each golfer will have different distances with different golf clubs but it is important to at least know what the basic yardages are for average players. Here is a list of distances that you can expect for different golf clubs.
Lob wedge – The average golfer would hit this club at about 60-80 yards
Sand wedge – The sand wedge is normally hit about 90 yards but pros are known to hit as far as 120 yards.
Pitching wedge – The pitching wedge can go about 140 yards for pros but on average will only go about 100 yards.
9 Iron – The 9 iron will go about 150 for pros while 120 is the average.
8 Iron – The 8 iron will go about 160 for pros while 130 is the average.
7 Iron – The 7 iron will go about 170 for pros while 140 is the average.
6 Iron – The 6 iron will go about 180 for pros while 150 is the average.
5 Iron – The 5 iron will go about 190 for pros while 160 is the average.
4 Iron – The 4 iron will go about 200 for pros while 170 is the average.
3 Iron – The 3 iron will go about 210 for pros while 180 is the average.
5 Wood – The 5 wood will go about 230 for pros while 200 is the average.
3 Wood – The 3 wood will go about 250 for pros while 220 is the average.
Driver – The driver will go about 300 for pros while 240 is the average.
